Golf day hits goals for Kenya

The annual charity golf day hosted by Porter Davis to support the Salem Orphanage in Kenya exceeded all fundraising expectations with staff, sponsors and partners rallying around to support the cause.

With over 100 guests limbering up to hit their best shots and enjoy a round of golf and lunch at the Sandhurst Golf Club, Porter Davis raised over $12,000 from donations and an onsite auction.

100% of the money raised will go directly to the orphanage in addition to the monthly contributions Porter Davis and its entire team send to assist the children.

The money raised provides the basic necessities including shelter, food, kitchen utensils, bedding and blankets, plus the money covers educational resources including books, uniforms and school fees, while the contributions have also assisted in sending some of the children to university.

At Porter Davis, we continue to support local charities and sporting groups here in Victoria, but we are committed to actively donating to those most vulnerable in our world, particularly the children of Africa with the current drought and ongoing civil unrest.

Last year, the money raised from the golf day enabled us to assist in rebuilding the entire primary school in the village. Not only did this have a positive impact on the children in the orphanage, but also the wider community as other children attend the school.

We consider the children from the Salem Orphanage in Kenya as part of our extended Porter Davis family and look forward to sending the funds raised this year to the orphanage to provide a better future for these kids who have suffered through so much, through no fault of their own.

Thank you for your continued support!
