Q&A: Could you please give me some advice on build times?

Rhiza asks: I currently have a block which is due to title in June - can you please let me know how quick the process is from the block being titled to site start and completion? Also, would it prolong my build time if I do lots of changes to the structure of the home?

Hi Rhiza,

Following is a rather long response, but there are quite a few variables, so we hope this information is helpful.

If titles come through in June, then we should be able to commence construction two months later in August. However, we only start a limited number of builds each month (ensures we can guarantee start and finish dates, and its better for quality control). If  you are after a Lifestyle or Prestige house, we are now selling into the month of September. If the design your are looking at is from the Access, Advantage or Smart Living ranges, we are now selling into the month of October.

The other factor to consider is our build times – these vary depending on the following:

1.       Which house range the chosen floorplan belongs to

2.       If it’s a single storey or double storey house

3.       Where the block of land is located.

But these build times are guaranteed and inclusive of all personal variations made to the floorplan.

Here’s a list of our guaranteed build times:


  • 18 weeks on single storey Smart Living, Advantage and Access construction in Porter Davis Build Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5.

  • 25 weeks on double storey Smart Living, Advantage and Access construction in Porter Davis Build Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5.

  • 20 weeks on single storey Lifestyle construction in Porter Davis Build Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5.

  • 30 weeks on double storey Lifestyle construction in Porter Davis Build Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5.

  • 23 weeks on single storey Prestige construction in Porter Davis Build Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5.

  • 30 weeks on double storey Prestige construction in Porter Davis Build Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5.

  • 30 weeks based on single storey Lifestyle and Prestige construction in Porter Davis Build Zone 4.

  • 38 weeks based on double storey Lifestyle and Prestige construction in Porter Davis Build Zone 4.


Rent relief is up to a maximum of $250.00 per week if the guaranteed completion time is not met.
