Style Your Home Like The Rich and Famous - Hamptons all the way!
From its early origins as a farming district in the 1600s, to its modern presence as an idyllic coastal playground for the rich and famous, throughout the ages The Hamptons has been a source of inspiration for film, literature and of course, the much-loved Hamptons home style.
As one of the world’s most desirable styles for the home, it’s no surprises that it’s adopted by a host of celebrities. Below we’ve compiled a list of our favourites!
Martha Stewart: Martha got hooked on the Hamptons 25 years ago, when she stayed at Kurt Vonnegut’s house in Sagaponack one summer. Her Hamptons home features warm cream tones with quirky elements of her personality. For example, in the living room a taxidermy tarpon can be seen mounted above a console! Alec Baldwin: Having purchased the East Hamptons home in 1995, Alec and his wife Hilaria renovated the once farmhouse to a beautiful Hamptons oasis, which they use to escape city life and Hollywood’s prying eyes. Timber is a standout feature throughout the home, with the Master Bedroom seeing rich blue tones fill the space. Check out Alec’s house here .
Brooke Shields: Brooke and her husband Chris along with their two children love spending time together in their Southhampton cottage. The home features a classic neutral palette with pops of saturated colour, bringing to life the family personality. It provides a sense of relaxation and a great space where the family can enjoy each other’s company. Check out Brooke’s house here .
Beyonce and Jay Z: Beyonce and husband Jay Z’s East Hampton abode features sophisticated styling with lots of wood panelling - a trademark feature in Hampton homes. Although the colour palette is very neutral with minimal colour, the accented black bedding and staircase railing bring to life the Hamptons theme. Check out Beyonce and Jay Z’s house here .
Jerry Seinfeld: After purchasing Billy Joel’s former East Hamptons home back in 2000, Jerry and his wife, Jessica, along with their kids, use the home during Summer. The home is styled in staid simplicity, reflecting the couple’s down to earth attitude, and sees linen sofas combined with weathered oak timbers. Check out Jerry’s house here .
World of Style Interior Designer Koraly Symeou says Aussies love The Hamptons style because it’s a classic and sophisticated take on a casual, relaxing beach look. “I love The Hamptons look as it’s timeless and rich in texture and warmth, and it’s adapted to many home themes,” she said.
